Michiana Speech Lab is a private-pay practice, meaning we are intentionally out-of-network with insurance companies. In doing so, our speech language pathologists and patients are able to have complete control and flexibility related to therapy approaches, number of treatment sessions, therapy duration, etc. In most speech pathology clinics, insurance dictates if and what services are provided, and for how long. By bypassing insurance companies, we are able to offer patient’s one-on-one therapy services that are focused on the patient’s goals without insurance company restrictions. We do understand that this is a large investment in our patient’s recovery and care, therefore, superbills for potential insurance reimbursement are offered if requested. A superbill is a detailed receipt of service that contains all of the necessary billing information that insurances require to process claims. These are provided on a monthly basis and can be requested at any time.
